I'm starting to wonder if Claude is the problem. Obviously we don't know his attitude behind closed doors but I gotta believe all this "woe is me" bs is coming from him. I'm starting to think he truly believes the B's are playing good enough and that they just need a little luck. He needs to do SOMETHING. Like you said, he's not punishing poor play (Lucic), not rewarding good play (Caron), and he refuses to make any lineup changes.

Am I the only one that has noticed the team has played much better when they've been missing a couple guys and had to scramble lines? I don't think that's a coincidence. But, Claude will only try new lines for like a single shift before he reverts back to what he's comfortable with. Maybe try a Smith Krejci Eriksson line? No, having our two best shooters with our best playmaker just doesn't make sense does it Claude.

Bergeron and Marchand are the only two who should stay together, the rest of the forward lines need to be scrambled. I really don't want to give up on Looch, but something's gotta give. I think a good start would be to stop force feeding him first line min. Put him with Soderberg on the 3rd and see if he can find his game

Time to shake things up. Love Chara but it's time to get a return for him while we still can. Chara, Kelly & 2nd rounder to Edmonton for Hall, Schultz

You really think Chara is worth Hall with how ancient he is. Wow, keep dreaming. What a Terrible trade for oilers and not to mention you threw in Schultz. Try something along the lines of a lucic, a good prospect, and a 1st. Even then, I don't think the oilers would bite.

Problem is, this team is having more than an off year. They are over paying too many under performing players, and have lost and will lose more top end talent in years to come with chara due to expire or get even slower in 2-3 years. Hamhocked by bloated salaries and underperformance, next year they look to be in line for a top 5 pick

Here's a good read on our fourth liners..........

It wouldn't turn this ship around but definitely deserves some discussion.

http://www.weei.com/sport...ins-stick-ineffective-fou

That fact that Campbell and Paille ranked 4th and 13th WORST IN THE NHL in Corsi Relative last year should tell you all you need to know about "the best fourth line in hockey" four years ago..........

What's the point of those two now.....?

As the article points out.......we would have been better served to waiver Paille and Campbell and then play Fraser on the third line LW (his natural position)..........but........yeah........no.......

Those too must have naked pictures of Clod and Chia Pet.

Rock bottom, huh? Maybe you should check out the Flyers' current slide. THAT is rock bottom (unless you want to look at Edmonton). You guys could go much, much further.

Bruins fans please stop and get real. Please stop making up ridiculous trades that will not happen in a million years with the cap space and no trade clauses that litter this roster. Chara has zero value to any team in the NHL right now. Guy is going to be here for the next 4 years with a huge cap hit.

This team is in serious trouble and a bunch of people on this board have been saying they "will be fine, nothing is wrong" but yesterday made it evident this team refuses to battle. This team will golfing in April, they are just plain bad.

They have zero cap space to sign their younger players. Team needs a shakeup and management/coach refuse/can't make one.

While I agree we should see what we can get for Chara now, he isnt worth that asking price.

Having said that, PC loves Big Z too much to trade him. As sad as it sounds, I dont think that he will be leaving Boston.

This trade deadline PC should look to dangle Lucic out there. Its going to hurt our toughness factor, but at this point any player not named Chris Stewart would be better. Ty said it best, Lucic is a ghost.

Thanks Ty. Race you to the bottom of the standings...lol. I share your pain. It's hard to watch poor efforts, and a lack of character players; just an observation of the Flyers, and not of the Bruins. I wonder if a coaching change is in order? As the old saying goes, you can't fire all the players, but you can get rid of the coach. The talk about Chief has already begun, so let other teams join the chat...lol. Good luck with the rest of the season. This will be either an interesting summer, or one that is very dull with little to no movement.

Goes to show how important Chara was to this team the last 5-6 years when the Bruins were contenders.

Now that he's in vast decline, you've joined mediocrity with the rest of us and your window is shut. Will be interesting to see how Chiarelli handles the slight rebuild you need

Agreed, the Bruins could really use a young, talented top line center.

Strong draft class next year. At this point, is it time to keep some core guys (Bergeron, Hamilton, Krejci, Rask, insert whoever you think here) and do a Detroit style re-build? And its true; it may be time to let Lucic go. If he doesn't turn it around in the next week, see what you can get for him at the deadline. I hope he digs deep and turns it around, but I really don't see it happening.
You're cap-strapped so the only real avenue you have is moving those players who have the 'limited team' no movement clauses to those 'limited teams' for prospects/picks. Because lets face it; even if this team makes the playoffs this year, are they going any further than the 1st round? Sad, sad times my friends. But every team has to make those big decisions eventually.

I don't think its time to give up on CJ. Would much rather see a trade first. If these struggles continue then the coaching situation can be evaluated.

I don't see the value in firing a coach that gets you to the playoffs more often than not. B's are having a crap year, but it isn't through fault in coaching. Firing CJ will do more harm than good at this point.

He and Seidenberg both. During the cup run that was one of the best shutdown pairings ever honestly. Now they're both four years older and have suffered knee injuries... They both have a few years left and ntc's, not sure how PC will fix the defense

I just ask why RASK in considered a core guy, maybe he too has been a bi-product of the System. When was the last time Tuukka has won a game for you ?? not trying to Tuukka Bash, just being realistic, look how good Borat was last night ? Hutchinson in WPG, I mean why take 7M out of your cap. just a thought

Chara is in decline and looks silly out there a lot BUT.......

Scoring goals.......we can't score.........finishing wingers.

THATS our problem.

I don't understand the "once Chara is gone" argument........our D is not our biggest problem.

We RARLEY score 3 or more goals in a game.........more D wasn't going to really help against Carolina, but Reilly Smith hitting a WIDE OPEN NET would have.

Dougie Hamilton.......third year in the NHL.........21 years old.........plays n the top pairing for the Bruins..........

Ever heard of him?

Once Chia Pet does whatever he does with and when with Chara we HAVE A LIGIT t number one D replacement.

Hutchinson blows and Rask is the least of the Bruins' concerns. Main issue is their D. Chara's decline, Seidenberg slowed by injuries and the loss of Boychuck arr hurting them. Add to that the loss of Iginla and a Smith back to normal and you have the 2014-2015 Bruins' edition.

Maybe they could package eriksson and smith for seguin?
Side note: I'm glad the flyers aren't the only massively disappointing team this year.

HAHA Chara has Zero value to any team in the NHL, get real... Yes, he is in decline, but you are talking about him like he is awful... get a grip.

Yup, suck for Eichel, cause he would help us tremendously right now, LOL, yuck.

In all honesty we have holes, but they are ot that many, just bigger ones. We need a top line RW (but keep in mind Pastrnak is very close)

In all seriousness: we have a great core and I would like us to lineup like:

Marchand - Bergeron - Smith
Lucic - Krejci - Pastrnak
Kelly - Soderberg - Loui
Paille - Khoklachev - Griffith

Or something to that tune.

Out of that lineup even I think moving Lucic, Smith, Kelly, Paille should be looked at as well as moving Campbell. The old boys club has to be shut and to move a guy like Lucic you may be able to add in a Soupy or Paille or Kelly. Hard with the NMC's that are out there though

The Problem now is do we really Believe adding ONE guy to the top line is going to change this Team's play ????

This Team needs to go back to it's roots, it's the only way THIS Team can turn it around. your not going to just add a Skill guy and "Voila" everything is back to normal, they need that Heavy Presence that gave them the Success they had over the past 5 years or so, They Need a 4th line with BITE not skill, doesn't work on this Team, you can't have a Team made up of Grinders and then throw out a 4th line of (Low-End) skill ?? You need that trio that will at least make the other Team keep their head up, currently that is non-existant, give Soupy 4-stars for at least freaking trying to make guys accountable but he Needs Help in that Game McQuaid WILL do this, that's about it, Chara is not going to police, you can't have Lucic fighting IF he's on your 1st Line, (change it up Cload), Miller doesn't seem interested in that game this year (Yes I know he has injuries), HEY guess what they could use a guy LIKE #22, not to JUST fight but to fight when the Team NEEDS SOMETHING, we all remember the Dallas Stars game years ago THEN the Habs game which there was a Line brawl, including Timmy Thomas. This Team I think would just turn and skate away right now
